So Yeah, I know...

Yes the site looks a mess, I updated to Drupal6 and I have had a chance to update my Theme. I'll find something to replace in the intirum.

Also, KC sent me this.

List of problems solved by MacGyver

To carry several boxes of explosives leaking nitroglycerin across rocky terrain, MacGyver places the crates on a surface suspended by wagon springs and sand, both of which absorb shock from the terrain and absorb any drops. Along the way, MacGyver's truck stops running, so he fixes the broken throttle tensioner with a spring from a ball point pen.

I remember this, Oh how that guy formed my life. The question, was it in a good way.

Nine Inch Nails in Toronto

Last nights show was visually impressive. My vote for best usage of LIDAR and LEDs.

Some (aka KC) called it "a night with Nine Inch Nails" and I have to say she was right. At one point there was a Xylophone, Cello and Slide Guitar.

All and all I think it was an amazing show.

Here is a video of the LED drape in action.

I feel like I should post Something

The only issue is that I really don't have much to say at the moment. I'm busy with life and work so I haven't had much of any time to update the site in sometime.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop and update. Also For my friends out there I should have the Wedding photos up soon on kcandhoss.com this weekend (i hope).

Windows Update is your friend.

image On the last patch Tuesday (Jan 8th 2008) Microsoft released a patch to solve Critical Bug in the Network stack of Windows XP and Vista that, given the right situation, could allow a remote attacker to take complete control of your system.

The good news is that if you are behind a NAT Router ( your wireless router in your home for example) you are safe from such an attach. However, lets's say you are in an Airport, a Hotel or any other Open Network the chances of an attacker taking control of your Windows Machine is highly elevated, Even if you run a firewall.

So the morel of this story is. When your machine says "Do you want to install this Critical update" your answer should always be... YES.

To check to see if you have the patch you can visit windowsupdate.com or you can read a detailed description of the update from 2008's First Security bulletin MS08-001.

Go... Do it now!

Canadian iTunes finally gets TV

Canadian TV on Itunes Well it took them long enough but it seems that the lovely folks at Apple have relished that Canadians would like a way to download TV & movies legally.

I'm sure that the details of why TV downloads have not been available in Canada until now are outside of the realm of the providers, but with both Xbox and iTunes in the game now the future looks good for getting rid of my cable (jk).

At the moment the selection is not stellar, Little Mosque On the Prairie, The Rick Mercer Report, Corner Gas and NHL games and others; but with CBC and CTV we can hope to see shows like Heroes, Gray's Anatomy, Lost and The Amazing Race soon.

At $1.99CDN and the current strength of our Canadian Dollar. this could be a good alternative for those who don't have a DVR.
